Clairbourn Insights

Students have eagerly embraced school life!

In third grade, students tackled an exciting engineering project known as the Spaghetti Tower Challenge. Working in teams, they were given 20 pieces of spaghetti, one yard each of tape and string, a single marshmallow, and a pair of scissors. Their mission: to construct the tallest freestanding tower within the time limit. The classroom buzzed with energy as teams brainstormed ideas and brought their designs to life. After 25 minutes of building, several teams successfully completed their towers. Great job, Cougars!

Celebrate California Day on September 9!

California became a state on September 9, 1850, and we’re celebrating with a special California-themed spirit day on Wednesday, September 9! Students may show their California spirit by wearing apparel representing a California sports team, college, Disneyland, or another favorite California destination, such as Yosemite or Big Bear.
Students who choose not to participate should wear their regular school uniform. We can’t wait to see your Cougar spirit and California spirit!

Thank You, CFA!

A heartfelt thank-you to the Clairbourn Families Association (CFA) for giving our faculty and staff such a warm welcome back to campus. Your thoughtfulness and support made the start of the school year extra special!

School Counselors

Clairbourn partners with Counseling Partners of Los Angeles (CPLA) to provide counseling services to our students. CPLA provides these services by embedding two individuals into our school. Not all students will use this service in any given year, but to ensure any student can access this support, a consent form must be signed by a parent. A consent form is not a referral request. Please complete the CPLA consent form at your earliest convenience.

Nut Policy Reminder

To help keep Clairbourn safe for all of our students, please remember the following:

No nuts, nut oil, or items containing nuts.

If sending treats to school to share with other students, please check with your child’s teacher before purchasing and give the treats to the teacher for distribution.

• Wash hands before school. If your child eats peanuts or peanut butter before school, please have them wash their hands before coming to school.

• No sharing food.

Show your Cougar spirit by visiting our Spirit Store!
