Head of School Welcome

Much to Look Forward to!
Dear Clairbourn Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! Last year we celebrated our centennial, and this year we launch into a new century. This year will be full of exciting firsts, fresh starts, and wonderful progress. We have students new to Clairbourn whom we will welcome into our community. We have students who are entering their eighth-grade year and are the leaders on campus. We have new faculty who are already settling in and are ready to make amazing contributions to our team. All of this sets us up to grow and develop as a community and as learners. I have been touring the campus and peeking into the rooms where the teachers have been hard at work to prepare for our students to come on the first day.
When you come to school, you will see a lot of progress on campus as well. We have demolished East Hall, put in the new space for the Middle School students called Cougar Court, started grading for the new construction, and upgraded the gaga pit with new turf. This is going to be an exciting year to watch the continuing progress in our building project.
When you come to campus on day one, stay for the parent coffee if you can. Be ready to reconnect with old friends, welcome new families, and watch your children thrive. We can't wait to see you!

Student Cell Phone Policy

Clairbourn is a phone-free space designed to improve teaching and learning.
Students in Preschool through fifth grade may not bring any personal electronic devices to school, including, but not limited to, games, smartwatches, tablet computers, laptop computers, wireless headphones, e-readers, and cell phones. |
|
Middle School Cell Phone Policy: Students may bring a cell phone to school, but it must be locked in a Yondr pouch during the school day.
|
Yondr has been implemented in over 1,000 schools across 21 countries to create an engaged learning environment. It utilizes a simple, secure pouch that stores a phone.
Every Middle School student will secure their phone in a personally assigned Yondr pouch when they arrive at school each day. Students will maintain possession of their phones but may not access them until their pouches are opened at the end of the school day. Students are responsible for their Yondr pouches during the school day.
If there is an emergency or your child needs time-sensitive information, please call Clairbourn directly at 626.286.3108.
In an effort to best serve our students, we appreciate your full support of Clairbourn's cell phone policy and the adoption of the Yondr program at our school. If you have any questions, please contact the Assistant Head of School, Mrs. Taylor.
