Clairbourn Community Learns About Diwali

Festival of Lights

Diwali, or Deepavali, is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. It symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. During the festival, the celebrants illuminate their homes, temples and workspaces with diyas (oil lamps), candles, and lanterns. People place intricate designs using different colored powder or sand, called rangoli, outside their homes. It is also celebrated by lighting firecrackers and eating delicious food. Thank you to our students and families who shared their culture with us!

2025 Math Team

Meet this year's middle school math team! These enthusiastic students joined the math team to challenge themselves further in math, think critically outside of the box with new types of application problems, and to represent their school in local and national competitions! They meet two mornings a week before school and we can't wait to see what they accomplish this year!
Field Trip Highlight

Seventh graders stepped back in time and visited ancient Rome at the Getty Villa. They toured the beautiful garden and enriched their learning by exploring Roman artifacts and antiquities. History came alive as students connected what they’ve studied in class to the art, architecture, and daily life of the ancient world.

We had a great time at Cal Poly Pomona Agriscapes! We enjoyed a true farm experience—choosing pumpkins, learning about the pumpkin life cycle, exploring insects and reptiles, and even mooing at cows!
October:
Drop Everything & Build

Well done, Cougar Engineers!

On Fathers and Grandparents Visiting Day, the middle school students and their guests were challenged to build the tallest tower out of craft sticks that could support a cell phone. Each team was given 50 craft sticks and a limited amount of tape. Thank you to the visitors who allowed their cell phones to be used and who trusted their engineers!

In the end, in sixth grade, the runners-up were Lara and Everest, and there was a tie between the two most successful teams of George and Junya and Jonathan and Mia. In seventh grade, the runners-up were Daniel and Nicole, and the tallest tower was built by Zoey and Mila. In eighth grade, two teams tied for the second-highest tower: Alan and Alex, and Aaron and Austin. The highest tower in the entire middle school was built by Ethan C. and Cary.

Campus Safety: Playground Hours

Randall Hall playground closes at 4:30 p.m. and preschool playground closes at 3:30 p.m.

We love seeing the community that is built when families stay to chat and play after dismissal, but please clear the main Randall Hall playground by 4:30 p.m. (and the preschool playground area by 3:30 p.m.) so that our after school programs can safely use the space.
Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and welcoming!
