Welcome from CFA

Hello Clairbourn Family!
I hope everyone’s summer has been going well with family fun and relaxation. I would like to welcome all returning and new families to our school. As for the new families, I know you will love the school as much as my family does. I am so honored and proud to be serving as the Clairbourn Families Association (CFA) President during Clairbourn’s Centennial.
This momentous year promises to be filled with excitement and joy throughout the school calendar. We have such an incredible, hardworking community at Clairbourn. The CFA has been preparing and planning all summer for upcoming events, such as the Fall Social, Book Fair, Entrepreneurial Fair, Sugar Plum and Benefit Gala. I cannot wait for everyone to see and experience all the exciting activities we have planned for our community.
Since 2026 will be a special year for all of us, we will kick off the school year with an exciting centennial event for all of you. The Fall Social will bring together Clairbourn families from the past and the present to celebrate our beloved school. Please save the date of Sunday, September 21. Clairbourn Ohana means Family is our theme for the centennial Fall Social. Event details to come.
We are looking forward to a tremendous school year!

Meet Our New Team!

We are so excited to introduce our new teachers! Welcome to the Clairbourn family!
Anders Zimmerman, our new fifth grade teacher, earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and social behavior from the University of California, Irvine, then a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSU, Long Beach, and a Master of Arts in Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University, Irvine. In addition to his 9 years of teaching experience in elementary school, Anders was a managing partner of an indoor soccer center where he also taught and coached. He is enthusiastic to be collaborating with Mrs. Gier as they team-teach our 5th graders and he hopes to inspire his students to be curious, to persevere, and to have grit.
Originating his teaching career in New York, James Woo, our new middle school math teacher, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics, statistics, and economics from SUNY Stony Brook, then a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College. He holds teaching credentials in both New York and California. With over 10 years of experience teaching math and coaching competitive math teams across the middle school grades, he is excited to join our middle school team and foster integrity, compassion, and academic curiosity in his classes.
Monique Pazin, our new middle school English teacher, began her educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts, Liberal Studies in English & Teacher Education and a Master of Arts in Education from The Master’s University, Santa Clarita. Additionally, she holds a California Single Subject English Teaching Credential. Alice Sung, our new pre-kindergarten teaching assistant, has a background in business and nursing and is excited to transition to Early Childhood Education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of California, Riverside, a nursing degree from East Los Angeles College, and is completing the Early Childhood Education Certificate program at UCLA Extension.
