Eighth Grade Speeches

Failure is a Step
Toward Success

I have been on this journey of growth and learning in such a warm community, and the most important lesson I have learned is that it is okay to fail. Through all the challenges and obstacles I faced, both socially and academically, my peers and community have supported me. Failure is a part of the learning process and we should embrace it, even through all the mistakes and hardships.  As Michael Jordan says, “To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.”

Celebrating Music Achievement

We recognized fourth to eighth grade students who showed unwavering commitment by investing time in their daily practice and collaborating with their peers. They passed the general musical knowledge tests and performed leveled pieces on their specific instruments.

We use the six nationwide standard levels as inspiration for our own Clairbourn Music Levels. The Clairbourn Music Levels expands those six levels into more than fifteen levels to give students additional goals to readily achieve.

Level 1-7:  elementary level
Level 8-10:
middle school level
Level 11-13:
high school level
Level 14 and higher:   college or competitive
high school level

We currently have students playing at the elementary school level, many at the middle school level, quite a few at the high school level, and three who recently passed a playing test at the college level!

Using these testing levels motivates students to improve at their own pace. We are proud of our Cougars' dedication.

Congratulations!
